Role Overview
This position offers the chance to deepen your expertise in HVAC OEM product design, particularly focusing on energy recovery and VRV systems while actively participating in the advancement of our product line. Precision and detailed design skills are essential as you develop solutions for both standard and custom applications. You will spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, enhance existing products, and support new product launches through cross-departmental collaboration, gaining comprehensive exposure throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Management, ERP Management, Software Engineering, Marketing, Sales & Application Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations teams.
- Create full-scale models and detailed drafts for new product developments.
- Assist in product testing and certification processes.
- Manage sourcing of prototype parts and oversee prototype assembly activities.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and coordinate ERP integration efforts with Epicor systems.
- Support software teams by providing detailed product implementation information.
- Contribute marketing collateral including brochures, product renders, 3D printed models, and Installation, Operation & Maintenance manuals.
- Generate sales drawings and other submittal documents for sales and application engineering support.
- Prepare manufacturing documentation such as work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Customize standard units for special applications by designing unique production details and managing custom BOMs.
- Assist operations in production builds and ongoing product enhancement initiatives.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience designing HVAC OEM products.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Skilled in 3D CAD modeling, preferably SolidWorks, with knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication techniques.
- Experience designing heat recovery units is considered beneficial.
- Familiarity with Epicor or other ERP systems is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Comfortable in hands-on roles within manufacturing environments.
- Strong teamwork ethic, positive attitude, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently under deadlines.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and proper documentation approaches.
- Meticulous attention to detail and highly organized work methods.
- Open to learning and able to adapt in a dynamic team-driven setting.

The total annual remuneration ranges between $80,000 and $100,000 CAD.
