About Only A Pavement Away
Only A Pavement Away is a UK-wide charity dedicated to helping individuals rebuild their lives through hospitality employment. We connect hospitality employers with referral partners to support people facing challenges such as homelessness, former incarceration, and other disadvantaged backgrounds in obtaining sustainable jobs.
Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Marketing & Social Media Executive to join our growing team. This role involves crafting compelling content and managing social media channels to increase awareness and engagement for our mission. Reporting to the Head of Events & Brand Marketing, you will be vital in communicating our impact and developing marketing campaigns to drive social change.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee engaging content for social media platforms, including scheduling content calendars and creating posts, videos, and campaign materials.
- Bring brand narratives to life by capturing and sharing genuine stories from our community, candidates, employer partners, and events.
- Assist in implementing integrated marketing campaigns across digital channels including paid social advertising.
- Manage community interaction and monitor conversations on social media.
- Lead podcast production activities including guest coordination, content planning, recording, editing, distribution, and promotion.
- Support public relations and communication efforts, such as preparing press releases, newsletters, media opportunities, and website updates.
- Monitor marketing performance by analyzing insights and identifying strategies to boost engagement and reach.
- Keep current with social media trends, content formats, and audience growth opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience in marketing, social media, or communications roles.
- Strong familiarity with LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
- Excellent content creation skills including copywriting, photography, and video editing.
- Deep understanding of brand storytelling and audience engagement techniques.
- Experience managing content calendars and delivering marketing campaigns.
- Ability to analyze performance data and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple deadlines and projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive and creative mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
- Genuine passion for creating positive social impact.
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design and editing software.
Preferred but Not Required
- Experience producing podcasts or audio/video content.
- Familiarity with social media analytics and scheduling tools.
- Background or experience working within hospitality, charity, recruitment, or purpose-driven sectors.
