Overview
Maryland Public Television (MPT) is the statewide public broadcasting service for Maryland and its neighboring states. Located in Owings Mills, MD, MPT is a PBS member station producing both local and national television and digital content.

Role Summary
The Managing Director of Production Services is responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of production operations, financial management, and business planning. This role ensures resources including studio space, equipment, staff, and freelancers are effectively allocated to meet multiple concurrent project deadlines while maintaining budget compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate allocation of facilities and talent to support efficient simultaneous project execution.
- Design and manage departmental budgets including forecasting expenses and overseeing payroll and client invoicing.
- Supervise production teams, technical directors, and facility managers while managing contracts.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and digital workflows to enhance productivity and quality standards.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of seven years' senior-level experience in production with expertise in budgeting, leadership, and workflow optimization.
- Experience substitution allowed: up to four years of education may be replaced with equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional background in nonprofit media organizations.
- Familiarity with videography, studio and field production, and digital media asset management systems.
- Proficiency in non-linear editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid, or DaVinci Resolve.
Licensing and Compliance
Role involves operating motor vehicles; a valid Maryland driver's license is mandatory.
