Role Overview
The Manager will be part of the Group Internal Audit team, focusing on auditing Investment Banking and Support Functions. This includes providing independent assurance and advisory on control effectiveness relating to investment banking, treasury, risk, and support areas. The role involves deploying advanced data analytics and continuous auditing techniques to elevate audit efficiency and enable real-time risk monitoring. Adherence to the Group Internal Audit Department manual, global audit standards, and local regulations is mandatory. The role integrates business risks into audit planning to reinforce organizational resilience against current and emerging risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to formulating and executing a risk-based annual audit plan aligned with internal audit strategies targeting investment banking and support areas to protect shareholder value and avoid financial and reputational risks.
- Identify operational and compliance risks affecting financial performance and reputational safeguards, recommending mitigation measures.
- Evaluate the efficiency and control effectiveness within investment banking and support function processes to bolster governance and risk management.
- Implement key performance indicators and industry best practices within the audit function.
- Promote cost-effectiveness and enhance productivity to minimize expenses and maximize organizational benefits.
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and communicate audit results clearly to senior management, including SVP, EVP, and GCAE.
- Provide advisory expertise on internal control, consumer protection, anti-financial crime, and compliance topics as assigned.
- Address internal client queries regarding banking products and seek resolution of requests efficiently.
- Maintain agreed service levels with internal units and build coordination to achieve group objectives.
- Coordinate seamlessly with external auditors and consultants when required.
- Participate actively in audit engagements by supporting audit planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up phases, ensuring compliance with audit standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support adoption and maturation of data analytics and continuous audit methodologies to improve risk detection and audit quality.
- Stay informed on global audit trends, including technology breakthroughs, and continuously develop professional skills.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies including AML, fraud control, whistleblowing, data protection, and ethical standards.
- Operate within the Three Lines of Defense framework to manage and report risks effectively.
- Uphold client protection policies and support operational risk management activities such as RCSA, KRI, and incident remediation.
- Complete mandatory trainings and participate in internal/external seminars as required.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology or related fields is required; Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum six years of progressive experience in internal audit, compliance, or related functions preferably within a well-regarded international bank.
- Professional certifications like Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) are preferred; additional credentials such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, CISA, or CFSA are highly valued.
