Job Overview

This managerial role in the Indirect Tax domain focuses on leading project delivery, fostering business development, managing stakeholder relationships, and guiding teams on tax-related technology implementations. The position is based in multiple Indian cities including Mumbai, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Pune, and Hyderabad.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and identify business opportunities by building internal networks and driving development initiatives.
• Lead project management activities including client communications, proposal pitching, stakeholder management both internally and externally.
• Develop business cases incorporating solution options, project timelines, estimates, staffing plans, and execution strategies for tax-related opportunities.
• Oversee a team of experienced professionals and ensure timely project execution.
• Design and implement solutions for engagements ensuring quality delivery within budget and time constraints.
• Maintain and enhance client relationships by effective coordination with their organizations.
• Manage performance appraisals, support recruitment, training, and other personnel-related activities.
• Create thought leadership content around tax functions and transformational projects.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possess an MBA from a premier B-school or professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, or CPA.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in relevant financial areas like order to cash, source to pay, record to report with significant tax relevance.
• Hands-on experience in at least three full lifecycle implementations of ERP or tax technologies.
• Proficient in tax types including VAT, GST, SUT, WHT, and digital compliance reporting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and tax automation tools like Vertex O Series, OneSource, and SOVOS.
• Deep understanding of diverse tax types and business process integration.
• Experience managing teams of 5-10 members independently.
• Knowledge of digital reporting, compliance, and e-invoicing solutions.
• Ability to work in a distributed environment spanning onshore and offshore teams.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, including writing and presentation capabilities.
• Ability to solve complex business challenges while collaborating across global and culturally diverse teams.
