Overview
This role focuses on growing revenue by strategically managing competitive bids, tenders, and proposals within the enterprise business segment. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the bid governance process, ensuring compliance with global best practices, and collaborating with sales teams to align all internal stakeholders towards winning profitable business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the qualification process for new bid opportunities, including Bids, RFPs, RFQs, ITTs, and Expressions of Interest.
- Ensure the timely preparation and submission of bids that are both compliant and commercially viable, maintaining progress tracking and communication across teams.
- Manage the issuance and approval of critical bid documentation such as bid bonds, securities, powers of attorney, and quality assurance forms.
- Provide detailed sector and company-specific analyses that inform executive-level commercial discussions and improve bid success rates.
- Take decisive actions to meet or exceed expectations related to requests for quotations and information.
- Advise enterprise business account teams on bid document preparation and presentation, utilizing standardized templates and coordinating input from multiple departments including pre-sales, commercial, legal, finance, and IT.
- Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of complex bid materials, securing necessary approvals from all relevant internal groups.
- Finalize quality assurance checks before bid submissions, ensuring strict adherence to customer requirements.
- Distribute details of successful bids to stakeholders and maintain archival records of all bid materials.
- Integrate quality management processes within Systems Engineering to support day-to-day operations.
- Provide technical and solution support to sales teams, collaborating with technical and engineering teams to define client needs.
- Regularly report on bid performance metrics to management and account teams.
- Lead regional customer engagement initiatives to enhance brand loyalty and drive improvements in Net Promoter Scores.
- Establish and nurture relationships with internal departments, suppliers, and external partners such as investors and consultants to deliver comprehensive services.
- Support value sales processes by ensuring sales teams effectively utilize planning and proposal tools.
- Coordinate and influence partners and internal teams to deliver seamless pre- and post-sales service experiences.
- Provide business analysis, documentation, and comprehensive support related to enterprise solutions bid requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related discipline is required.
- Professional certification in contract or bid management is essential.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in commercial or bid management roles, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience managing Public Procurement Authority regulated tenders.
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in presentations and professional writing.
- Proven ability to engage in complex bid team collaborations.
- Strong project management and business process improvement capabilities.
- Expertise in quality management and providing product and service advice.
- Skilled in sales planning, opportunity management, and vendor relationships.
- Marketing and sales insight combined with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Sound knowledge of contract structures and ICT, telecom systems, and related technologies.
