Role Overview

The Manager in Product Development/Management holds accountability for steering product strategy from initial concept through to execution. This position emphasizes identifying fresh commercial and market prospects and crafting corresponding business plans. It ensures product offerings align with organizational goals and market demands. The role acts as a pivotal connector among systems, marketing, and sales teams during development, while also planning and executing long-term financial strategies for cost and profitability control. Embracing emerging technologies and market-leading trends is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape and guide product vision, strategy, and execution from conception to delivery.
• Discover new business markets and develop strategic business plans accordingly.
• Assess and define market requirements to guarantee product alignment with brand and organizational objectives.
• Coordinate closely with technology, marketing, and sales teams throughout product lifecycle.
• Design and implement long-term plans targeting cost efficiency and profit maximization.
• Champion adoption of innovative technologies and industry best practices.
• Maintain in-office presence at least three days weekly, with specific schedules determined by the hiring manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or at least 2 years with an advanced degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD, MD), or no experience required with a PhD.
• Proven skills in creating vision statements and setting clear product goals.
• Experience defining product strategies and designing products based on customer discovery.
• Competency in driving product execution and achieving strategic objectives.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the ability to navigate complex, matrixed environments within the payments ecosystem.
• Understanding of process and core banking standards and passion for applying these within teams.
• Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing, retaining, and leading top-tier technical professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 4 years with an advanced degree, or up to 3 years with a PhD.
• Senior level experience in product management within digital payments and financial services sectors.
• Track record launching and managing digital products targeting issuing institutions.
• In-depth knowledge of issuing institutions' operations and managing large card portfolios.
• Strong capability in devising product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies leveraging data-driven decisions.
• Sound understanding of software development lifecycle and technology to collaborate effectively with engineering and design teams.
