About the Role
Priory New Stead House in Redcar, Cleveland, is seeking a Maintenance Person to join their team. This is a full-time role requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The facility provides residential care to 17 autistic males and females, many of whom have additional needs such as learning disabilities, communication difficulties, mild to moderate challenging behaviours, and epilepsy. The home is situated near the town centre and close to the seafront.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and well-decorated environment throughout the site, adhering to quality standards and statutory regulations.
- Ensure Priory’s minimum standards are consistently met across all areas in a timely and efficient manner, working collaboratively within a team.
- Conduct regular internal and external checks around the unit and grounds, ensuring windows and doors are properly secured according to the time of day.
- Perform compliance testing such as fire alarms, bed inspections, and vehicle checks as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Essential Requirements and Skills
- Good proficiency with tools and reactive repair work.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with water systems, fire safety protocols, and COSHH compliance.
- Experience with maintenance of grounds and outdoor areas.
- Competent in data entry and use of IT systems for reporting and record-keeping.
- Resilience to handle challenging and varied daily tasks, combined with empathetic support towards residents.
