Role Overview
The position of Mahila Carrier Agent is a full-time, on-site role located in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The agent will be responsible for engaging with potential and existing customers by explaining LIC’s various insurance products, assessing their financial protection requirements, and assisting them in selecting appropriate plans. Daily duties include identifying prospective clients, arranging and conducting meetings, maintaining up-to-date customer records, and facilitating the completion of policy applications and necessary documentation. The agent must regularly follow up with policyholders regarding premium payments, renewals, and any service-related inquiries. Participation in community outreach and local marketing initiatives to grow LIC’s clientele is also expected. Collaboration with branch employees and strict adherence to LIC’s compliance policies, ethical standards, and customer service guidelines are integral components of the role.
Key Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage diverse clients.
- Basic capabilities in sales, negotiation, and relationship management to attract leads and convert prospects into customers.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to keep accurate records for multiple client accounts.
- Fundamental financial literacy, including an understanding of insurance products, premium structures, and benefits.
- Good knowledge of the local language(s) and culture in the Bareilly region to better connect with the community.
- Minimum educational requirement is completion of secondary education; higher education like diplomas or degrees in commerce, finance, or related areas will be advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site, travel within Bareilly and nearby areas, and meet clients at their convenience.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with digital tools for managing policy information, communication, and reporting.
- Prior experience in insurance, banking, or retail financial services is helpful but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
