Overview
FutureCare Associates, Inc. is seeking diligent Laundry Aides to efficiently support the laundry department and contribute to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. This role involves handling all linens with care, ensuring they meet the high standards set by the Environmental Services department. Responsibilities
- Follow both verbal and written directives accurately.
- Adhere to material safety data sheet (MSDS) guidelines.
- Maintain adherence to the laundry department's schedule.
- Regulate water temperature settings as required for proper cleaning.
- Carefully manage clean and soiled laundry items.
- Identify damaged garments or linens and report them to supervisors.
- Collect and sort soiled laundry for processing.
- Ensure linens and laundry are washed using the appropriate cycle.
- Implement proper sanitation and infection control protocols to maintain hygienic conditions.
- Distribute clean laundry and individual resident clothing responsibly.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and workspaces.
- Comply with FutureCare's ethical and corporate compliance standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- At least one year of housekeeping experience in a long-term care environment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of laundry systems essential for safety and wellbeing.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions.
- Capable of lifting and moving between 25 to 50 pounds with assistance, using carts or bags.
- Physical stamina to perform strenuous tasks, including pulling and repetitive motions.
- Wearing a safety belt might be necessary at times.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage ranges from $15.70 to $17.50 based on experience and qualifications.
