About the role
peeps is looking for an IT Co-Founder / CTO to take charge of the product's technical direction and help shape the next phase of the startup. The app focuses on reducing loneliness by helping young people connect in real life. Users can discover events, create their own meetups, and build new friendships through shared interests.
What you will do
- Commit around 25–30 hours per week or more to the role.
- Take full ownership of the technical implementation and product execution.
- Drive the continued development of the app and support the startup's growth.
What the company is looking for
- Strong interest in startups and in topics such as mental health, loneliness, social anxiety, and community building.
- About 3 years of experience in full-stack development.
- A good eye for design is a plus.
- Initial hands-on experience with Firebase and Stripe is required, or a very strong willingness to learn them quickly.
- Solid knowledge of Flutter (Dart), TypeScript, and Python is an advantage.
- Openness to AI-driven, agentic coding approaches.
- A dependable, organized, and structured way of working.
- Enjoyment of teamwork.
- Residence in the greater Würzburg area, within about 1 hour of travel time, for in-person coworking and events.

Application process and terms
Interested candidates should apply by email with a CV and a short cover letter by 31.07. The next steps are an introductory conversation and interview, followed by a 2-week trial project based on the visual identity of the published app, for example MVPs for new features. After that, there will be about one month of onboarding, a probation period of around 6 months, and then contract finalization for the co-founder role and equity participation.
