Role Summary

The Interior Design Assistant will be a full-time team member working primarily from Pleasant Ridge, MI, with options for remote work on some days. This position involves assisting the design team by developing concepts, preparing detailed floor plans, and supporting spatial layouts for various client assignments. The role includes sourcing furniture and finish materials, organizing design presentations, maintaining project files, and managing sample collections. Additionally, the assistant engages with vendors and clients to coordinate deliveries and helps keep projects on track regarding schedule and budget. Close partnership with designers ensures seamless execution of design concepts from initial planning through final installation.

Key Qualifications

• Solid grounding in interior design principles and practices
• Proficiency in space planning and accurate creation of floor plans
• Knowledge of furniture types, specifications, and efficient layout strategies
• Strong communication skills to engage effectively with team members, clients, and suppliers
• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or equivalents, along with competence in MS Office or Google Workspace
• Exceptional organizational capability, attention to detail, and multitasking aptitude to meet deadlines
• Relevant academic background in interior design or related discipline; previous internships or studio exposure preferred
• Availability to work on-site at the Pleasant Ridge location
