Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced leader to spearhead the Integrated Lease Delivery (ILD) team for the Middle East and Africa within Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I). The ILD Sub-Region Lead will manage a diverse and dynamic team, ensuring leased datacenter capacity is delivered across the region while fostering a culture grounded in safety, inclusion, and accountability. This role advocates Microsoft's health, safety, quality, ethics, and inclusion standards and drives collaboration, continual improvement, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the EMEA delivery program to achieve performance, quality, and accountability targets.
- Collaborate with the ILD Regional Director and sub-regional leaders to translate broader strategies into actionable local plans, covering processes, vendor management, and cross-functional priorities.
- Coordinate Microsoft’s requirements and timelines with lessors, contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure smooth and timely datacenter handovers to Operations.
- Develop and manage a diverse team of ILD professionals and external partners, aligning resources with regional demand and project commitments, while fostering growth and learning opportunities.
- Define clear objectives and performance metrics for safety, quality, schedule, and cost within regional and project scopes.
- Partner with program stakeholders and datacenter operations to ensure business continuity and delivery success; proactively communicate and escalate risks or issues to leadership.
- Promote safe workplace practices through Microsoft’s High Risk Activity program and work closely with construction management and general contractors to improve site coordination and safety.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven leadership experience managing complex infrastructure, construction, or datacenter programs from initial planning to operational handover.
- Self-driven with strong ability to juggle multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines within a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership, collaboration, and influencing capabilities across diverse teams and business units.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hyperscale datacenter, critical mission infrastructure, or large-scale infrastructure delivery is beneficial.
- Familiarity with project controls, schedule management, commissioning, operational readiness, and facility turnover processes.
Background and Security Requirements
The role requires passing Microsoft Cloud background checks upon hiring and periodically thereafter as per policy. This includes meeting all necessary Microsoft, customer, and government security screening standards.
