Job description
Job Overview
Take responsibility for supervising planned and unplanned inspections of Free Zone companies involved in marine activities, working in coordination with external inspection teams to ensure safety and regulatory compliance within the Free Zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify that all entities operating within the Zone possess valid business licenses.
- Perform off-site inspections based on a risk-focused methodology.
- Carry out periodic on-site evaluations of warehouses, offices, industrial facilities, and other premises, documenting any alterations and health, safety, and environmental violations.
- Ensure all legal entities conduct operations strictly aligned with their licensed business activities.
- Monitor compliance of companies with safety standards and proper storage of goods according to HSE and relevant authorities’ protocols.
- Confirm that all companies maintain accurate inventory records of goods entering and leaving their premises.
- Inspect warehouses to verify storage of only permitted materials and prevent storing hazardous, banned, or harmful goods per GCC customs regulations.
- Guarantee that zones are not misused for illicit trades, residential purposes, or unauthorized activities.
- Investigate and eliminate unlicensed or unregistered establishments within the Zone’s locations or facilities.
- Inspect employee credentials to ensure all personnel are sponsored by Abu Dhabi Free Zone and possess valid identification or access cards.
- Maintain detailed records of Free Zone companies and their employee counts.
- Verify employers’ compliance with wage payments and benefits as stipulated in employment contracts.
- Ensure industrial and storage units have valid compensatory and insurance coverage, including workmen’s compensation, fire and peril, third-party liability, and employee health insurance.
- Confirm companies’ adherence to HSE regulations and certifications by Abu Dhabi Civil Defense.
- Verify companies maintain registers documenting beneficial owners, shareholders, and minutes of meetings.
- Document inspection results comprehensively and apply administrative penalties for non-compliance when necessary.
- Manage follow-ups on issues related to non-conformity.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Free Zone rules and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively resolve disputes.
- Strong written and verbal communication proficiency in both Arabic and English.
- A minimum of three years’ experience working within a Free Zone environment.
