Company Overview

The Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA) is a public institution founded in 2025 by legislative act to coordinate and regulate tourism, promote infrastructure development, protect Liberia's cultural heritage, and cultivate the creative economy.

Role Summary

The Information Technology Manager will oversee LNTA's entire IT infrastructure, including installation, maintenance, and security of computers, networks, communication systems, and ICT equipment, ensuring seamless technology access for staff. This role involves strategic IT planning, website and e-services management, user support, training, and disaster recovery planning aligned with the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and upgrade LNTA’s ICT infrastructure, including servers, LAN, internet connectivity, and hardware to ensure uninterrupted service availability 24/7.
  • Administer all software and telecommunications, manage user accounts, access controls, backups, and enforce cybersecurity measures such as firewalls and encryption to safeguard data.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to staff, addressing helpdesk inquiries and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Develop and implement strategic IT plans aligned with LNTA goals, evaluate new technologies like tourism data management and e-visa platforms, and handle budget and procurement for IT resources.
  • Oversee LNTA’s website and online presence, ensuring security, currency, and ease of use; manage online databases such as licensing registries and tourism statistics.
  • Maintain inventory of IT assets, ensure maintenance and procurement coordination with vendors, and collaborate with finance on capital expenditures and external IT projects.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline; Master's degree or certifications like CCNA or MCSE are advantageous.
  • Minimum of five years in IT management or systems administration, preferably within governmental or large organizational settings.
  • In-depth expertise in networking, server management, databases, telecommunications, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the capability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

Additional Information

  • Reporting: Reports directly to the Deputy Director General for Finance and Corporate Services (DDG-FC); collaborates across divisions and with external partners.
  • Performance Metrics include maintaining 99% uptime of IT systems, resolving 90% of helpdesk tickets within 48 hours, completing IT projects on schedule and budget, achieving positive user feedback, and avoiding major security breaches.
