Role Overview
The Incident Response Engineer at Vivid Pulse is a full-time remote opportunity centered on identifying, analyzing, and managing security incidents affecting applications, networks, and IT systems. The engineer will actively monitor security alerts and logs, prioritize potential threats, and carry out in-depth incident investigations and root cause analyses. Responsibilities also include managing containment and recovery actions, documenting events and insights, and enhancing response playbooks and procedures. Collaboration with diverse teams, conducting vulnerability assessments, proposing security enhancements, and supporting ongoing cybersecurity improvements are integral to the role.
Key Qualifications
- Strong expertise in cybersecurity and information security principles related to threat detection and incident response.
- Between 5 and 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Operational experience with network security measures, including intrusion detection/prevention and network protection.
- Understanding of application security best practices, secure coding concepts, and typical security flaws.
- Capability in vulnerability assessments encompassing scanning, prioritizing risks, and managing remediation efforts.
- Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) platforms, endpoint security solutions, and recognized incident response frameworks like NIST or SANS.
- Proven ability to function independently in a remote setting, handle multiple incidents effectively, and communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, GIAC, or equivalents are advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or related fields, or comparable practical experience.
