Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and committed HRIS and Payroll Administrator to join our Human Resources department in Hillsboro, OR. The role involves managing and enhancing the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and overseeing payroll operations to guarantee precision and adherence to all pertinent laws and standards. This position requires expertise in HRIS handling, payroll execution, and a detail-oriented analytical approach supporting precise data management and comprehensive reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the HRIS platform, including setup, updates, and routine maintenance.
- Conduct consistent audits to confirm data accuracy and integrity in the HRIS.
- Act as the main contact for issues and questions related to HRIS.
- Work alongside IT personnel and external vendors to fix technical problems with the HRIS.
- Provide training and support to HR staff and users on HRIS features and best usage practices.
- Keep thorough documentation on payroll, commission schemes, and HR processes.
- Execute bi-weekly payroll runs ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Gather, compute, and enter payroll details including work hours, deductions, and bonuses into the HRIS.
- Inspect payroll reports for inconsistencies and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain detailed payroll records and up-to-date employee information.
- Manage payroll-related General Ledger activities within ADP.
- Assist with tax reporting at year-end such as W-2 forms and ACA (1095) documentation.
- Produce and examine HRIS and payroll reports to help management make informed decisions.
- Ensure payroll and employee data comply with labor laws, tax codes, and corporate policies.
- Regularly review HRIS and payroll system workflows to suggest and implement improvements.
- Support onboarding and offboarding by managing proper documentation in the HRIS.
- Assist with benefits administration including billing, auditing, tracking eligibility, and enrollment processes.
- Support compliance reporting and auditing activities.
- Aid management with monthly sales commission calculations as needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor's degree or comparable experience is preferred.
- At least 3 years of progressively responsible payroll experience managing multi-state payrolls.
- At least 3 years of experience using ADP WorkforceNow.
- Background in account reconciliation and accounting principles is an advantage.
- Proven experience creating reports with advanced reporting tools for at least 3 years.
- Certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
- Preferred experience troubleshooting software and systems issues.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Robust problem-solving aptitude and capability to resolve technical problems efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and leadership.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll and HR-related employment laws and compliance requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to meet essential job functions safely and efficiently in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other relevant laws, including achieving productivity standards.
- Must maintain consistent, punctual attendance in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Capability to use computers and related hardware/software comfortably.
- Some lifting of up to 30 pounds may be required.
- Extended periods of computer keyboard operation and occasional standing or walking.
