Job Overview

Position Summary
Working under the limited supervision of the Human Resource Manager, the HR Specialist - Recruiting is responsible for sourcing qualified candidates who align with the company's objectives and culture. This role demands in-depth understanding of recruitment practices, employment laws including equal opportunity regulations, and affirmative action programs. The specialist also plays a role in departmental development by initiating and leading enhancements related to recruitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead collaborative and scalable recruitment initiatives matching organizational demands.
- Consult with management and supervisors to identify staffing needs, job specifications, qualifications, and required skills.
- Craft and place job advertisements across various media platforms.
- Coordinate internal job listings and maintain relationships with educational institutions and public organizations to attract talent.
- Partner with external recruiters and employment agencies to source candidates.
- Utilize online recruiting channels to identify potential candidates.
- Represent the company in public presentations and job fairs.
- Provide information about company facilities and available roles to prospective applicants.
- Initiate outreach to potentially qualified candidates for open positions.
- Screen applications, conduct interviews to gather candidate background, skills, education, and salary expectations.
- Schedule and coordinate interviews with internal stakeholders.
- Arrange travel and lodging for candidates traveling from out of town.
- Manage recruitment budgets efficiently.
- Establish consistent data-driven hiring metrics and targets.
- Collaborate with business partners to improve recruitment processes.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive job description library.
- Document and refine all hiring processes.
- Work with HR colleagues to develop strategies for attracting and retaining top talent.
- Administer compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action regulations.
- Analyze hiring and termination data to ensure adherence to fair practices and develop related training programs.
- Oversee updates to the employee handbook as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of HR-related experience; three years preferred in recruiting, compliance, and hiring practices.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Additional Information
This role operates with minimal supervision; tasks are generally defined by expected outcomes and deadlines. The position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
