About the Role
The HR and Payroll Specialist is essential in managing payroll and human resources operations to support a well-functioning workplace. This role involves overseeing payroll activities through ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments, maintaining detailed employee records, assisting recruitment and onboarding, and providing answers to employee questions on payroll and HR policies. The position upholds compliance with labor regulations and integrates HR best practices to improve organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process payroll and manage related activities using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal standards.
- Keep employee records current, including personal details, employment status, and benefits information.
- Collaborate with finance to reconcile payroll data and remedy inconsistencies.
- Assist with recruiting by supporting job postings, screening candidates, and onboarding new hires.
- Address employee inquiries about payroll, benefits, and HR policies promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local labor laws concerning payroll and employment.
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports to aid leadership decision-making.
- Work alongside management to launch HR initiatives and enhance payroll and HR workflows.
Qualifications
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or comparable payroll systems is required.
- Solid understanding of payroll procedures and employment law compliance.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory, though associate or bachelor's degrees in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related disciplines are preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are needed.
- Capability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
- Certifications such as CPP or SHRM are beneficial.
- Background in the Business Services sector is advantageous.
- Knowledge of benefits management and employee relations is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Additional Details
This temporary full-time position spans approximately 3 to 6 months and may evolve into a permanent role based on company demands, contract terms, and employee performance. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding federal holidays and government closures. The role operates in a professional office environment with standard office equipment, and no travel is anticipated.
