Job description

Role Overview

Join Bluebird Care Ireland as a Healthcare Assistant offering compassionate, one-on-one support to clients in their homes across County Wexford, including Wexford Town, Enniscorthy, Gorey, and New Ross. This opportunity allows you to provide personal care while aiding clients to maintain independence and comfort in familiar surroundings, with working hours designed to fit your lifestyle.

Key Duties

  • Assist with personal hygiene including washing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Support clients by preparing light meals and managing household tasks.
  • Offer companionship and emotional encouragement.
  • Provide help with mobility and daily schedules.

Working Hours & Scheduling

Care services operate daily from 8am to 8pm. You can customize your schedule to suit your availability, be it a few hours per week, part-time, or nearly full-time, with shifts primarily required during peak hours of 8am to 12pm and 4pm to 8pm. Once set, your schedule and client assignments remain consistent week by week.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly wage ranging from €14.15 to €16.00 depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Reimbursement for mileage and travel time between client visits at €0.48 per mile.
  • Ten hours of paid initial training with ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Direct support and guidance from a local team readily available for assistance.

Training Opportunities

If you possess care experience but lack QQI qualifications, assistance is available to enroll in subsidized QQI courses specifically in Care Skills and Care of the Elderly.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

  • Demonstrate compassion, respectfulness, reliability, punctuality, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with strong teamwork support.
  • Residence anywhere within County Wexford.
  • Possess a full, valid driving license and access to personal transportation.
  • Hold or commit to obtaining QQI qualifications in Care Skills and Care of the Elderly.
