About Europrop International GmbH
Europrop International GmbH (EPI), based in Munich, Germany, specializes in the design, development, manufacturing, delivery, and logistics support of TP400-D6 engines used in the A400M aircraft. Established in 2002 by shareholders Industria de Turbo Propulsores S.A.U, MTU Aero Engines AG, Rolls-Royce plc, and SAFRAN Aircraft Engines SAS, EPI also maintains a liaison office in Madrid, Spain.
Job Role and Scope
The Head of Supply Chain Quality leads the supply chain quality team that supports the Product Delivery Function. This role involves managing supply chain quality matters to ensure product deliveries meet required timelines and quality standards. The incumbent serves as the senior quality liaison for EPI’s Part 21 suppliers and is responsible for spearheading process enhancements within the Product Delivery function. Compliance oversight for production sites and non-conformance processes is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) within the EPI supply chain according to internal processes and deadlines.
- Coordinate customer quality matters with the Quality Assurance Representative at the A400M Final Assembly Line (FAL).
- Lead investigations and resolution of Quality Escapes to prevent impact on end customers.
- Oversee root cause analyses and corrective measures undertaken by suppliers, EAL, and FAL to assure engine deliveries.
- Collaborate with suppliers, EAL, and FAL to improve processes and documentation, ensuring implementation of agreed solutions.
- Handle concession requests with suppliers and customers, providing relevant KPIs.
- Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and scorecards and drive continuous improvement plans.
- Conduct supplier quality assessments for EPI’s direct suppliers.
- Participate in Industrial Readiness Reviews and conduct Engine Buy Off inspections, initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Support and perform audits under EPI's audit program to assure adherence to QMS and Production Organization Approval (POA) standards.
- Assist with audits by customers such as Airbus and OCCAR.
- Provide consultation regarding certification and production organization questions.
- Support new supplier sourcing initiatives.
- Identify risks related to supply chain quality and coordinate mitigation activities.
- Represent EPI on quality topics during interactions with suppliers and customers when required.
- Ensure compliance and proactive improvements to the EPI Quality Management System (QMS) within the scope of work.
- Lead and track visual quality control and assurance metrics and participate in meetings by presenting quality data and supplier performances.
- Report functionally to the Head of Product Delivery.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced Quality Engineer with comprehensive aerospace knowledge, specifically with whole engine experience and engine production processes.
- At least 4-5 years of supplier management, quality monitoring, and surveillance experience.
- Strong familiarity with aerospace regulations and standards including EASA Part 21 and EN9100.
- Proficiency in quality investigation methods such as 8D and 5-Why.
- Experience working with Lean methodologies.
- Demonstrated capability in team leadership and management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to work flexibly including varied working hours and service times.
- Open to travel and work at various EPI locations.
- Collaborative team player comfortable in multicultural environments.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
