Head of Data Architecture - Emirati Talent

About the Role

The Department of Community Development seeks an experienced Head of Data Architecture responsible for the leadership and management of data architecture functions including data platforms, modelling, and pipelines, ensuring they align with the organization's overall data strategy and analytical needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, operation, and ongoing enhancement of data platforms such as data warehouses, data lakes, ETL/ELT processes, data catalogs, and data quality systems.
• Ensure seamless data integration, automation, and exchange across the social sector to support analytical outputs, reporting, and key data-driven initiatives.
• Maintain and monitor data quality across multiple datasets, systems, dashboards, and reports, enforcing compliance with established data quality standards and guidelines within sector entities.
• Contribute to strategic planning efforts, performance tracking, and budget management related to data architecture functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Currently serving in a supervisory or leadership capacity managing a team.
• Minimum of seven years of full-time professional experience with practical expertise in Data Architecture, including Medallion data design, data strategy, and modern data platform technologies.

Required Skills

• Proficient with contemporary data platform technologies and cloud data ecosystems.
• Solid hands-on experience with data warehousing, data lakes and lake house architectures, ETL/ELT processes, data integration platforms, metadata management, and data quality tools.
• Familiarity with platforms like Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, SQL-based data platforms, and enterprise data governance tools is advantageous.
