Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Grocery Associate provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-moving retail environment. Main Duties

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper zoning in the grocery department to keep it prepared for customers at all times.
• Rotate stock regularly and remove expired or damaged items to preserve freshness and product quality.
• Ensure pricing and signage accuracy by following established procedures for pricing, labeling, ordering, clearance, markdowns, and markups.
• Adhere to food safety protocols, sanitation, and cleaning standards to uphold a safe and hygienic workspace.
• Stock merchandise fully, execute downstocking when needed, apply product protection, and organize shelving including flex modulars and new shelf caps.
• Comply with health and safety policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free work area.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business requirements.

Challenges

• Handle a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment, especially during overnight shifts requiring proper energy and focus management.
• Manage heavy workload efficiently with large-scale restocking and store recovery performed accurately and timely.
• Perform physical demands such as standing for long periods, bending, lifting inventory or equipment up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive tasks like stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail to maintain store standards consistently.

Compensation

This role offers a starting hourly wage of $15.50 USD.
