About Kochi Metro Rail Limited
Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) is a joint venture equally owned by the Government of India and the Government of Kerala. It oversees the implementation, operation, and maintenance of the Kochi Metro Rail project. The company is undertaking Phase II of the Kochi Metro project, extending from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to InfoPark, covering approximately 11 kilometers and 11 stations.
Position Overview
KMRL invites applications for the position of General Manager (Signaling & Telecom) or Chief Engineer (Signaling & Telecom) on re-employment basis. The role focuses on managing the Signaling and Telecom division of existing and upcoming metro projects. Candidates should be experienced, dynamic, result-oriented, and project-driven professionals with a proven track record in executing large metro or railway projects.

- Number of posts: 1
- Employment Type: Regular, Deputation (initial three years, extendable), or Re-employment basis (initial two years, extendable up to five years or till age 65)
Essential Educational Qualifications
- For Regular position: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics & Communication Engineering from AICTE/UGC recognized institutions.
- For Deputation: Serving IRSSE officers of Indian Railways or equivalents; or B.E./B.Tech from recognized universities.
- For Re-employment: Retired IRSSE officers or equivalent B.E./B.Tech graduates.
Experience Requirements
- Regular candidates must have at least 20 years post-qualification experience, including 15 years at executive/managerial level in railways, rail PSUs, or metro rail corporations, specifically in signaling and telecom.
- Deputation candidates must be serving IRSSE officers in appropriate pay scale with relevant signaling and telecom experience.
- Re-employed candidates must be retired officers with prior experience in similar roles and pay scales.
- For candidates applying regularly, experience in equivalent or immediate lower pay scale is mandatory. Private sector candidates will be considered with a minimum CTC of 2.25 lakh INR per month.
Compensation and Age Limits
- Regular post pay scale: Rs. 120,000 to 280,000 (IDA)
- Re-employment consolidated pay: Rs. 170,000 per month
- Deputation pay as per respective terms
- Maximum age for deputation and regular posts: 55 years as of 1 August 2026
- For re-employment post: Minimum 56 years and maximum 62 years as on same date
General Conditions
- Age, qualification, and experience are considered as on 1 August 2026.

- Applicants currently employed in government, quasi-government, rail PSUs, or metro corporations must produce a No Objection Certificate at time of interview.

- Equivalency of qualifications will be determined by KMRL.
- Integrity of candidate information is critical; any discrepancies may lead to disqualification at any stage.
