General Manager (m/w/d)

Overview

We are currently seeking a General Manager (m/w/d) for our Asian restaurant XIAO in Hagen, Germany. This leadership role calls for a proactive individual who thrives on responsibility and is recognized for their expertise in gastronomy. As General Manager, you will take full ownership of running an XIAO restaurant, acting as an entrepreneurial leader and supporting the executive management to ensure smooth daily operations and create exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the restaurant generating a net annual turnover of 4-5 million euros, serving approximately 150,000 guests yearly, with around 60 staff members under your leadership.
• Hold complete operational accountability for the restaurant.
• Recruit new employees and develop a talent pool for future workforce needs.
• Create and implement training programs and provide ongoing coaching to new and existing team members.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, and quality standards at all times.
• Optimize inventory management and workforce scheduling for maximum efficiency.
• Plan and manage employee deployment effectively.
• Monitor restaurant profitability and functionality using clear goals and KPIs and take corrective actions when necessary.
• Maintain professional guest relations to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate communication flow between your restaurant and the executive management team.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as HR, Marketing, Purchasing, and Controlling.
• Engage with external partners and customers for effective stakeholder management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in system gastronomy with several years in a similar leadership position, especially as a branch manager.
• Previous work experience within a buffet concept restaurant setting.
• Good command of the English language.
• Strong operational capabilities combining the roles of host and entrepreneur with inspiring, positive leadership that motivates and develops team members to exceed expectations.
• Solid knowledge of business administration principles.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset and analytical thinking skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• High stress tolerance and strong drive to achieve performance goals.
• Proactive initiative and responsible work ethic with the ability to maintain a long-term perspective.
