About the Role

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety.
- Refuel vehicles and machinery as part of daily operations.
- Operate heavy equipment such as loaders and excavators when required.
- Clean tracks on machinery including track-type equipment.
- Perform yard upkeep including trimming and litter collection.
- Handle general site vehicles including shunt trucks to assist with maneuvering large trailers and roll-off trucks.
- Direct and manage traffic flow at the site to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Conduct general maintenance tasks in office and facility areas, such as painting and janitorial work.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and all relevant federal, provincial, and local safety regulations.
- Complete additional tasks as delegated by management.
Candidate Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must comply with company safety standards and demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, basic math, and effective communication is essential.
- Capability to follow instructions and operate semi-independently.
- Skillful and safe operation of assigned equipment.
- Strong practical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
Physical and Environmental Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift frequently (up to 90% of the shift).
- Use of hands, fingers, ability to kneel, crawl, climb, balance, talk, and hear is necessary.
- Visual requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Regularly lift weights up to 65 pounds; ability to move around 100 pounds with help.
- Exposure to loud noise, humidity, weather extremes, moving machinery parts, vibrations, chemicals, fumes, and particles.
- Work is predominantly outdoors (up to 100% of time) and may involve travel from the branch location during the day.
- Tasks sometimes involve working at heights or precarious positions and constant presence near motor vehicle traffic.
Work Environment
The role requires operating in a typically noisy setting, with diverse weather conditions and exposure to various environmental factors.
