About the Hotel
The Ardilaun Hotel is a four-star establishment, once a country mansion, featuring 123 elegant bedrooms along with excellent conference, wedding, and leisure club amenities. Located in a quiet, leafy area of Taylor's Hill just one kilometer from Galway City, Galway Bay, and Salthill, the hotel is family-run by the Ryans and has over six decades of operation. On-site facilities include the Camilaun Restaurant, a Garden Terrace with outdoor dining canopy, Blazers Bar, The Ardilaun Bistro, and spacious Garden Lounges serving Afternoon Teas. The hotel aims to deliver exceptional guest experiences and exceed expectations consistently.
Role Overview
The Front of House Porter will be a vital team member responsible for supporting the seamless functioning of front-facing guest areas and delivering outstanding service to visitors.
Key Duties
- Prepare setups for various events, including banquets, conferences, and weddings.
- Welcome and assist guests professionally as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies including conducting fire and security inspections.
- Offer room and lobby support services when required.
- Ensure the front of house zones, such as the lobby and dining areas, are clean and well-organized.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by management.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and the capability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
- Proven excellent customer service skills.
- Prior experience in hotel guest relations or services roles is required.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative when necessary.
- Flexible availability including weekends and night shifts.
- Capability to follow guidance accurately and collaborate effectively within a team.
