Position Purpose

The Floor Technician role within the Engineering Department aims to ensure the smooth operation, upkeep, and repair of the hotel’s physical infrastructure, including utility services, equipment, fixtures, furnishings, and associated buildings. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, this position leverages education and experience to maintain a high standard of facility performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Work 48 hours per week, including designated meal breaks: 15 minutes breakfast, 30 minutes lunch, 15 minutes tea break, and 30 minutes dinner.
• Properly maintain and care for all tools and materials used during duties.
• Perform pre-arrival checks at guest villas, covering painting, electrical, air conditioning, swimming pool operation, wooden fixtures, flooring, cladding, and furniture.
• Identify and rectify defects in electrical systems and equipment.
• Install electrical fittings in existing villas, buildings, or related structures.
• Collaborate closely with clients and relevant personnel, keeping clients updated on completed tasks and expected timelines.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols.
• Use and maintain hand tools and equipment necessary for various electrical repair tasks.
• Comply with company attendance, uniform, and grooming standards.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free working environment.
• Demonstrate self-starting and proactive behavior.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure proper control of tools, materials, and equipment for safe and efficient job completion.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure job completion.
• Show flexibility in assigned tasks.
• Be familiar with basic troubleshooting during power interruptions.
• Check water plant operations daily, including level observations and recording water usage and production.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Keep plant operation equipment and facilities clean and organized.
• Function as a shift operator with the ability to make decisions independently during shifts.
• Be prepared to work extended hours when necessary.
• Respond effectively to emergencies such as fire or environmental hazards.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by management, with the understanding that the job description may be revised as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong knowledge of painting, basic electrical and mechanical systems, and civil works.
• Possession of a certificate or diploma in a related technical field.
• Understanding of basic health and safety standards relevant to the role, with a commitment to complying with them.
