Financial Modeling Analyst

Role overview

A fast-growing financial consulting practice is hiring a Financial Modeling Analyst to assist with business valuation and financial advisory assignments. The position is centered on analysis, valuation modeling, and the creation of reports used for mergers and acquisitions, ownership changes, strategic planning, and similar business decisions. This is a direct hire, full-time onsite role based in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out business valuation work using DCF, market comparison, and other accepted valuation methods.
• Review financial statements, identify key value drivers, and develop financial models.
• Perform forecasting as well as scenario and sensitivity analysis.
• Build valuation reports, presentation materials, and supporting files.
• Study industry trends and market information to inform valuation assumptions.
• Work alongside senior colleagues to complete valuation engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a closely related subject.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in business valuation, financial analysis, corporate finance, or a similar area.
• Good working knowledge of financial statements and valuation approaches.
• Strong Microsoft Excel capability, including financial modeling, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and forecasting tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Comfortable handling several projects at once and working with limited supervision.

Preferred background

• Exposure to Power Query or automation within financial models is an advantage.
• Interest in working toward valuation credentials such as CVA, ASA, or equivalent certifications.
