Overview
We are representing a global financial services organisation based in Dublin that is seeking a Financial Accountant. This role is ideal for accountants who are either qualified or recently qualified and wish to engage in a diverse role within an advanced financial services setting. The position involves responsibilities related to financial accounting, investment activities, management reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, the role provides opportunities to actively participate in the enhancement of systems, processes, and internal controls.
Primary Responsibilities
- Compile and review daily, monthly, and quarterly profit and loss statements including conducting variance and attribution analyses.
- Contribute to the preparation of annual financial statements in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Assist in the budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial analytical processes.
- Support regulatory reporting obligations to the Central Bank of Ireland such as FINREP and own funds reporting.
- Facilitate the advancement and improvement of accounting methodologies, controls, and financial reporting frameworks.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities and enhance process efficiency.
- Participate in broader finance-related projects and provide ad hoc analytical support as needed.
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified accountant with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience in sectors such as financial services, investment management, banking, fund accounting, or Big Four environments.
- Desirable experience includes handling investment products and trading operations.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting within a MiFID investment firm framework is considered a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail paired with strong organisational and time management capabilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral, enabling collaboration with stakeholders across various departments.
