Finance Director - Retail

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Finance Director to oversee comprehensive financial operations for a regional retail group, with an ascending career roadmap targeting CFO position within 2 to 3 years.

Key Details and Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience, including at least 5 years in senior finance leadership roles.
• At least 7 years of experience managing finance within multi-branch retail operations encompassing 50 or more stores.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory; a Master's degree is advantageous.
• Certified professional designation required: CPA, ACCA, or CMA.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP systems (Fusion Cloud or EBS R12) for over 5 years, including participation in implementation, migration, or optimization projects.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS accounting standards, focusing on IFRS 15 and 16, as well as IAS 2 and 36.
• Full fluency in both Arabic and English is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire accounting cycle and IFRS-compliant financial reporting.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes down to branch and SKU-level granularity.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations including VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), Corporate Tax, Zakat, and Transfer Pricing.
• Oversee audits conducted by Big 4 or internal teams.
• Handle cash flow management and maintain banking relationships.
• Own and administer Oracle ERP financial modules.
• Implement inventory and shrinkage control measures.
• Guide and develop a finance team ranging from 15 to 30 members.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the Board and Audit Committee.

Preferred Background and Traits

• Experience in perfume, beauty, luxury retail, or premium FMCG sectors is highly favored.
• Oracle Financials certification is an advantage.
• Previous exposure to Board/Audit Committees.
• Familiarity with Mergers & Acquisitions or Initial Public Offering preparations.
• Comfortable operating within dynamic, evolving environments requiring restructuring rather than stable, mature setups.
• Decisive leadership demonstrated under pressure with a professional shareholder-facing demeanor.
