Field Hardware Technician

About the Role

The Field & Hardware Technician is entrusted with the responsibility of installing, deploying, configuring, and setting up technology hardware, network infrastructure, and related systems across all company locations. This position is pivotal in ensuring that both new and existing sites operate with dependable, secure, and efficient technology that supports operational needs and enhances member experiences.

Key Duties

• Install and set up computers, networking devices, access control systems, CCTV, and supporting infrastructure.
• Support activities related to new location launches, expansions, moves, and hardware upgrades.
• Conduct site evaluations to confirm readiness for deployments and coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors during installations.
• Configure network hardware such as routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls according to security standards.
• Assist with the setup of servers and network-connected devices and maintain network diagrams and documentation.
• Perform thorough testing after installation to ensure proper operation and address any issues before project handover.
• Keep detailed records of installations, update asset inventories, and manage equipment tracking.
• Contribute suggestions for enhancing installation quality, efficiency, and security as part of ongoing improvement efforts.

Performance Metrics

• Completion rate of installations as per schedule.
• Percentage of installations done correctly on the first attempt with minimal follow-up issues within 30 days.
• Timely and accurate submission of installation reports and deployment documentation.
• Compliance with established network and security protocols.
• Successful completion of deployments within deadlines and high stakeholder satisfaction.
• Zero preventable safety incidents during all installation processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Possesses a diploma, certification, or vocational training in IT, Electronics, Networking, or a comparable discipline.
• Has at least two years of practical experience in field services, hardware installation, technology deployment, or infrastructure support.
• Experience managing installations across multiple site locations is advantageous.
• Holds a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Demonstrates strong hardware installation knowledge and a firm grasp of network infrastructure components.
• Has foundational understanding of server deployment and network security.
• Possesses excellent troubleshooting capabilities and meticulous attention to quality and safety standards.
• Exhibits a proactive, responsible approach with flexibility to travel frequently as needed.
