Role Overview

This position is intended for seasoned professionals with substantial commercial experience in managing freight and/or mixed-traffic railway operations under ERTMS/ETCS Level 2 signaling frameworks. Candidates must have a proven track record of prioritizing operational safety and sound judgment while handling complex railway operations, including degraded modes and operational incidents, within a modern Operations Control Centre.

Key Duties

Initially, the role supports the company's Operational Readiness Program, engaging in the development of the Operations Control Centre, validation of Rule Books and operational procedures, ETCS Level 2 operational validation, timetable verification, testing and commissioning, simulator training, route familiarization, and operational trials in preparation for commercial service commencement.

As a member of the founding cohort, the candidate will apply railway operations expertise to assist in shaping the company's Operations Control Centre, including operational procedures, competence frameworks, and the ETCS Level 2 operating philosophy.

Before the start of commercial operations, the incumbent will actively take part in operational readiness efforts such as testing and commissioning, validation of operational scenarios, exercises in degraded modes, Rule Book verification, simulator training, route familiarization, and integrated operational trials on the UAE-Oman railway.

After the service launch, the controller will uphold safety in regulating and supervising freight and passenger train movements from the Operations Control Centre, adhering strictly to the company Rule Book, operational protocols, and ETCS Level 2 principles.

Moreover, the role involves contributing to the formulation of the company's ongoing Competence Management Framework for the Operations Control Centre by providing mentorship, coaching, knowledge sharing, and fostering the development of local operational skills.
