Role Overview

We invite applications for the role of Environmental Research Manager who will oversee comprehensive environmental research programs, scientific investigations, data analytics, and multi-disciplinary sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities include guiding research strategy, conducting field and lab studies, managing environmental monitoring, analyzing data, fostering stakeholder partnerships, and disseminating findings, ensuring scientific rigor, regulatory compliance, and impactful environmental outcomes.

Key Duties

• Formulate and execute research strategies, scientific programs, and evidence frameworks aligned with organizational sustainability goals.
• Lead diverse research areas including climate change, biodiversity, water and air quality, pollution management, and natural resource conservation.
• Design and supervise fieldwork, lab investigations, sampling, monitoring, experiments, and longitudinal environmental studies.
• Collaborate extensively with scientists, ecologists, engineers, data specialists, policy experts, regulatory teams, academic institutions, and leadership.
• Develop research methodologies, ensure data quality and management, and establish reporting standards.
• Interpret environmental data to recognize trends, assess risks, and provide recommendations for strategic environmental management.
• Oversee regulation-compliant environmental monitoring programs across relevant ecological parameters.
• Manage research projects including impact assessments, baseline surveys, sustainability evaluations, and performance analyses.
• Build partnerships with universities, government entities, labs, NGOs, and technology providers.
• Ensure all activities meet UAE environmental laws, safety standards, data governance, and international environmental frameworks.
• Track performance indicators such as data accuracy, research progress, publication output, stakeholder engagement, compliance, and funding efficiency.
• Perform scientific quality reviews, audits, literature assessments, and promote continuous improvement.
• Administer research budgets, grants, labs, equipment, field operations, consultants, and partnerships.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives using AI for environmental modeling, climate analytics, remote sensing, geospatial analysis, and scientific visualization.
• Utilize tools like ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, MATLAB, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, LIMS, and other platforms for data analysis and insight generation.
• Prepare diverse scientific materials such as reports, publications, policy briefs, dashboards, presentations, and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team promoting scientific integrity, innovation, collaboration, and environmental responsibility.

Candidate Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Engineering, Biology, Geography, or closely related fields.
• Preferably master's degree or higher in environmental or sustainability disciplines; doctoral level or significant research experience favored for research-intensive tasks.
• Memberships or certifications from relevant scientific, environmental, or project management bodies beneficial.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental or sustainability research, with at least 2 years managing teams or projects.
• Proficient knowledge of environmental research techniques, data analysis, ecological evaluation, regulatory frameworks, and environmental monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with GIS tools, data analytics software (Python, R, MATLAB), remote sensing platforms, LIMS, and scientific databases.
• Familiarity with AI-based environmental modeling, machine learning, satellite data, digital twins, and advanced geospatial technology advantageous.
• Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, project management, budgeting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to handle multiple projects while balancing integrity, objectives, regulations, funding, logistical challenges, timelines, data quality, and stakeholder expectations.
• Comfortable working remotely with distributed global teams and occasional travel for fieldwork, conferences, and evaluations.
