Entrepreneur in Residence – Datacenter Development

About the Role

We are launching a new business unit focused on datacenter site development, covering everything from initial site conception to forward-sale transactions with investors and operators. As an Entrepreneur in Residence, you will take on entrepreneurial responsibility from day one and grow this division as a startup within our company.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Datacenter Development business unit, overseeing strategy through to operational execution.
• Develop and manage the project pipeline, including site acquisition, grid connection capacity, and early marketing of powered land/ready-to-build projects.
• Build and guide the core team (site acquisition, technical project management), ensuring prioritization and resource allocation.
• Negotiate and finalize term sheets and letters of intent with investors and operators for forward deals.
• Develop a strong partner network within the datacenter industry.
• Manage investment cases, business plans, and reporting for executive leadership.

Candidate Profile

• Several years of experience in business unit setup, project development (energy, infrastructure, real estate, or datacenter), or investment environments.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with high self-motivation and the ability to create working businesses from limited structure.
• Proven negotiation skills at executive level and experience establishing strategic partnerships.
• Strong understanding of site, energy, and real estate topics; knowledge of the datacenter market is an advantage.
• Leadership experience or clear ambition to build and develop a team.
• Strong execution skills, hands-on approach, and willingness to travel.
• Fluent German and very good English language skills.
