Electrical Technician

About the Role

We are looking for a highly capable Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team in the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will be tasked with diagnosing electrical malfunctions, performing scheduled and corrective maintenance, and assisting with the setup and commissioning of various electrical equipment to maintain safe and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve faults in electrical systems and equipment.
• Conduct preventative and repair maintenance on electrical installations.
• Assist in the installation, testing, and start-up of electrical apparatus.
• Service and maintain generators, high-voltage and low-voltage motors, transformers, starters, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and company protocols during maintenance tasks.
• Accurately document maintenance work and generate reports.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements for equipment dependability and plant effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Technical Secondary School Certificate or an Electrical Engineering certificate up to Ordinary National Diploma level.
• At least five years of practical experience in electrical mainframe installation and upkeep within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
• Comprehensive understanding of electrical maintenance techniques, systems, and their applications.
• Hands-on experience with generators, high-voltage and low-voltage motors, transformers, starters, and related electrical instruments.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office software.
