About the Role

Crowne Plaza Queenstown, situated on the edge of Lake Wakatipu in the centre of New Zealand’s South Island, is seeking a Duty Manager to join its welcoming and professional team at the 4.5-star property.

Key Duties

  • Deliver a warm, guest-focused experience from arrival through departure.
  • Provide guests with hotel details and local area information, and help arrange transport when needed.
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee the sale and service of alcohol in line with hotel requirements.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints by coordinating with the relevant departments, including maintenance, Food & Beverage, and Housekeeping.
  • Use guest feedback and reviews to support service improvements and maintain pride in the workplace.
  • Support and guide team members through training, rostering, coaching, and recruitment as directed by the Front Office Manager.
  • Manage hotel bookings and reservations.
  • Respond effectively to crisis situations such as earthquakes, fires, bomb threats, and viral outbreaks.
  • Develop knowledge of the IHG One Rewards program and work toward loyalty performance targets.
  • Encourage and empower team members to resolve guest concerns confidently.
