Role Summary

This full-time onsite position based in Doha requires a Draftsman who will be responsible for producing precise technical drawings and layouts related to fire protection, fire suppression, and alarm systems. Working closely with project engineers and designers, the candidate will convert design requirements and standards into accurate CAD drawings, schematics, and as-built plans. The role entails updating drawings considering site feedback, revisions, and design modifications, while maintaining thorough organized records and version control.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed CAD drawings and schematic layouts for fire safety systems aligned with project specifications.
• Interpret design documents, standards, and requirements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Regularly update drawings based on design changes, site observations, and stakeholder feedback.
• Maintain orderly drawing files and effective version control processes.
• Collaborate with project teams, installers, and commissioning personnel to ensure practicality and code compliance.
• Support basic quantity take-offs and the preparation of bill of materials.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient drafting skills with experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD to generate clear and detailed layouts.
• Solid understanding of fire protection, suppression, and alarm systems incorporating relevant standards and installation practices in building and industrial contexts.
• Aptitude for reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective coordination with engineers, managers, and field teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Diploma or degree in engineering, drafting, or related technical discipline preferred; prior experience in fire protection or MEP drafting especially within the Gulf region is advantageous.
• Willingness to work onsite in Doha, adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
