About the Role
Fab Tech is seeking a skilled Design Engineer proficient in CAD and SolidWorks to work on fabrication and sheet metal projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in developing precise fabrication drawings and designing sheet metal components suitable for production.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and prepare fabrication drawings with high accuracy.
- Design sheet metal parts, applying knowledge of shearing, folding, and development processes.
- Generate production-ready designs ensuring manufacturability.
- Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) relevant to the projects.
- Estimate materials needed and prepare quotations based on drawings and BOM.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient experience in fabrication drawing preparation.
- Strong command of AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.
- In-depth understanding of sheet metal design, including shearing, folding, and development techniques.
- Ability to prepare accurate material estimations and Bills of Materials.
- Competent in using Microsoft Excel for estimation and quotation purposes.
