Role Overview
Join Te Pūtea Matua | Reserve Bank of New Zealand as a Data Engineer and contribute your expertise to maintain and advance critical systems and data products central to the Bank's decision-making processes.

Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer, you will support, maintain, and enhance systems facilitating the storage, processing, and retrieval of the Bank's data assets. Working closely with senior engineers, you will help deliver two new data collection initiatives, followed by managing updates, defect resolutions, upgrades, and expansion of data to meet dynamic business requirements. You will also collaborate across the Operations Group to refine data engineering methods by applying suitable tools and frameworks consistently.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive knowledge in data modeling, including both normalized and dimensional modeling approaches.
- Proficiency with SQL, Snowflake, dbt, and comprehensive ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience working within Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Background in supporting analytics and reporting platforms, providing curated datasets for visualization tools like Power BI.
- Competence in Python programming.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and full software development lifecycle management such as build and deployment across different environments.
