Customer Delivery Driver - Launceston Superstore

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver based in Launceston, you will be the primary representative of Tesco on the road, delivering groceries directly to customers’ homes. This position involves much more than driving; it is centered around providing outstanding customer service with a friendly attitude. The work is physically active, varied, and requires independence, with the support of a management team at the base.

• Sunday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Monday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Tuesday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure orders are delivered in perfect condition.
• Load the delivery vehicle safely and conduct all necessary safety checks to ensure the van is roadworthy and reliable.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding any order adjustments such as substitutions or near-expiry items, offering refunds when appropriate to preserve a positive experience.
• Handle products carefully to maintain order quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders punctually within assigned time slots, providing warm and courteous service at the doorstep to make customers feel valued.

Candidate Requirements

• Build and maintain strong relationships with team members to foster a supportive work environment and deliver excellent customer service.
• Exhibit a warm and welcoming manner towards customers and colleagues.
• Adapt quickly to changes in customer requests and operational changes on the road and in the store.
• Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
