Overview
Lidl Ireland aims to deliver an outstanding shopping experience at all levels, from corporate offices to store floors. The role of Customer Assistant is ideal for those energetic and passionate about learning daily, committed to providing exceptional service. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Castlerea, County Longford, Ireland, offering a weekly earning potential starting at €460+ on a standard 30-hour contract.
Daily Schedule
Shift patterns include:
- Morning shift: Starting at 5 or 6 am, responsibilities include stocking award-winning products and preparing bakery items to ensure readiness by store opening.
- Middle shift: Commencing mid-morning or early afternoon, tasks focus on maintaining cleanliness, product presentation, inventory freshness, assisting customers, and managing checkout queues.
- Late shift: Beginning in the afternoon, duties involve customer service at checkouts, replenishment of missing stock, and preparing the store for the next business day.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage customers with a friendly, polite, and helpful attitude.
- Adhere to stock loss control procedures across store areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards both inside and outside the store.
- Follow product freshness and stock rotation guidelines.
- Manage waste disposal appropriately.
- Support stock-taking and inventory count processes.
Candidate Profile

- Strong team collaboration skills.
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles is an advantage but not mandatory if attitude and enthusiasm are exemplary.

Hourly Wage Breakdown
- Year 1: €15.40 base; €19.25 unsocial; €23.10 overtime/Sundays; €30.80 bank holiday
- Year 2: €16.20 base; €20.25 unsocial; €24.30 overtime/Sundays; €32.40 bank holiday
- Year 3: €16.90 base; €21.13 unsocial; €25.35 overtime/Sundays; €33.80 bank holiday
- Year 4: €17.90 base; €22.38 unsocial; €26.85 overtime/Sundays; €35.80 bank holiday
