Role Overview

The CSA Estimator will be responsible for producing precise and detailed cost estimates covering Civil, Structural, and Architectural aspects. Working with the pre-construction team, the estimator will create Bills of Quantities (BoQs) utilizing 2D drawings and/or BIM models, selecting the method that best suits each project. Engagement with local suppliers to gather current market pricing is essential to develop fully priced bids that satisfy client criteria and complete all necessary pricing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Lead Estimator and pre-construction team to deliver completed estimates and present findings to the Group CSA Estimation Manager.
• Maintain strict tender document control by reviewing and analyzing all bid-related materials such as drawings, specifications, and tender addenda to determine work elements requiring measurement and pricing.
• Demonstrate proficiency in CostX software for estimation tasks, including both 2D and 5D quantification processes.
• Source quotations from local vendors and subcontractors, critically evaluate these for scope, pricing variations, and integrate accurate figures into the bids. Consult with the construction team to ensure rates align with actual costs and lessons learned from previous projects.
• Manage tender changes by monitoring pre- and post-tender addenda, assessing their impact, scheduling changes, and applying updated pricing to bid submissions.
• Exhibit excellent time management skills to meet tight deadlines for BoQ preparation, recognizing the critical nature of timely delivery.
• Occasionally travel for client meetings related to bid progress, which may include day trips or overnight stays as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying or Estimating roles.
• Experience within the data centre sector’s Civil, Structural, Architectural (CSA) commercial environment is preferred.
• Proficient in CostX, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and BIM360 software.
• Demonstrated success working on projects valued between €10 million and €15 million or more.
• Exceptional accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Advanced skills in Bills of Quantities preparation and bid pricing.
