Role Summary

The Creative Studio Manager oversees a team of Senior Designers, Designers, and Production Artists who provide creative support for both the Creative Strategy and Creative Studio teams across MGM Resorts. This role is responsible for managing daily workloads, planning capacity, maintaining quality standards, fostering team development, and providing hands-on creative contributions as needed to ensure timely and brand-consistent delivery of assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard, and integrate new design and production talent, establishing role clarity, training frameworks, and performance standards; maintain a balanced team comprising senior, mid-level, and production artists aligned to portfolio demands.
• Oversee quality assurance by reviewing creative outputs for precision, brand compliance, technical accuracy, and adherence to MGM’s creative standards before final release.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a design team of 10+ members through regular feedback, appraisals, and career development initiatives, fostering a culture centered on craftsmanship, responsibility, and ongoing improvement.
• Coordinate daily design workloads by prioritizing creative requests from associated teams and judiciously allocating projects based on skill sets, availability, and deadlines to ensure punctual completion.
• Step in as a senior designer when project complexity or resource constraints necessitate direct involvement, operating as a coach and creator performing design, layout, finishing, and production tasks.
• Collaborate with Senior Creative Directors, project managers, and producers to forecast capacity needs, identify workflow bottlenecks, and align team efforts with changing business objectives; recommend external freelance or agency resources when internal capacity is exceeded.
• Implement and uphold studio operational standards including file management, version control, naming conventions, asset libraries, brand conformity, and adoption of AI-augmented production processes to enhance quality and efficiency.

• Experienced creative leader combining exceptional artistic talent with strong operational leadership to improve brand and design outcomes.
• Brings over 7 years of advanced graphic design and production experience in fast-paced creative environments with at least 2 years managing and mentoring design and production teams.
• Possesses a distinguished portfolio illustrating expertise in graphic design, layout, typography, brand systems, and multi-channel production.
• Highly skilled in managing workflow intake and team capacity across multiple internal stakeholders effectively.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and knowledgeable in AI-enhanced design and productivity tools.
• Exceptional communicator known for delivering clear, motivating feedback that upholds high creative standards and adapts to innovative content generation workflows.
