What You’ll Do
In this copywriting role, you’ll work alongside art directors, client services, and project management to develop strong creative solutions for clients. You’ll help shape ideas from early concepting through final execution across a range of media.
The position calls for someone who thinks strategically and creatively, keeps audience needs in mind, and understands how to bring concepts to life visually and verbally throughout the full customer journey. You’ll also contribute to work that is culturally aware and inclusive.
Responsibilities
- Partner with an art director to develop and execute creative ideas under the direction of the creative director.
- Bring original thinking that helps develop large, culturally relevant concepts.
- Write copy that stays true to the brand’s voice, tone, and strategic direction.
- Create high-quality work that aligns with business objectives, client expectations, and inclusive storytelling standards.
- Manage multiple assignments and coordinate with different teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Communicate ideas clearly so they are on-brand, audience-appropriate, and aligned with the brief.
- Present concepts internally and, when required, to clients in a clear, structured, and inclusive way.
- Apply brand standards, continuity rules, and positioning consistently.
- Work confidently with Adobe Creative Cloud and other relevant creative tools.
- Revise and polish copy decks, scripts, and other written materials with strong attention to detail and inclusion.
- Support new business pitches with writing and conceptual ideas.
- Look for opportunities to improve creative quality and storytelling with guidance from senior team members.
- Use emerging AI tools ethically and responsibly to support creative exploration and more efficient workflows.
- Continue developing AI-related creative skills and experiment with new technologies to support innovative solutions.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in copywriting or a comparable creative position.
- Experience producing work that reflects cultural awareness, inclusive language, and diverse perspectives.
- Strong conceptual ability and experience working on integrated advertising campaigns.
- Ability to translate insights, strategy, creativity, and emerging technologies into compelling written output.
- Demonstrated writing skill across multiple media formats and content types.
- Comfort working collaboratively with diverse cross-functional teams.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to present ideas in an engaging and inclusive manner.
Additional Information
This position is to fill an existing vacancy.
The annual salary range is CAD 70,000 to CAD 80,000, with the final offer based on experience, knowledge, and skills. Permanent employees are eligible for a benefits package that may include medical coverage, dental coverage, RRSP, paid time off, and other benefits.
