Contract Administrator

Overview

MatchBox Consulting Group invites applications for a Contract Administrator position to assist in delivering transportation infrastructure projects with a prominent engineering consulting firm. This 6-month contract position holds potential for permanent placement, offering an excellent opportunity for professionals eager to impact infrastructure initiatives and establish a long-term career.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage construction contract documents such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, payment applications, and project correspondence.
• Facilitate communication among contractors, clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Evaluate contractor submissions for completeness and monitor outstanding deliverables to align with project timelines.
• Maintain comprehensive records including meeting minutes, contract files, site documentation, and project files.
• Attend site meetings and inspections, documenting findings and necessary follow-ups.
• Assist Project Managers in construction administration across all project stages.
• Help resolve construction-related challenges while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Organize and monitor project documentation to maintain accurate contract records.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary project teams to enable successful completion.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent background in construction administration or inspection.
• At least three years' experience in construction contract administration, preferably in transportation or municipal infrastructure projects.
• Solid knowledge of construction contracts, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Exceptional organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Capability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic project setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with willingness and ability to visit project sites.

Preferred Experience

• Background in engineering consulting environments.
• Familiarity with document management software systems.
• Previous roles such as Contract Administrator, Field Engineer, Construction Coordinator, Superintendent, or Senior Inspector.
• Knowledge of best practices in transportation infrastructure construction and contract administration.
