About CLMI Group and Role Overview
CLMI Group is seeking devoted construction and program management experts to enhance our team. We prioritize ambition, commitment, and innovation, building a community of professionals who aim to make a lasting impact.
The position is based in Los Angeles, CA, and requires on-site presence at the Los Angeles Unified School District's Facilities Services Division, Asset Management. Candidates must comply with the District's on-site work policies.
Key Job Duties
- Support Planning and Development teams in tasks related to the planning, designing, and building of educational facility projects
- Assist with routine processes involved in managing Architectural-Engineering contracts and services, including preparing studies and presentations
- Interpret architectural, engineering, and planning documents accurately
- Gather and organize data for reports and presentations
- Contribute to the preparation of reports and conduct minor project research activities
- Maintain and update project files containing technical information
- Review plans and construction documents to ensure compliance with LAUSD standards as well as federal, state, and local codes
- Prepare and review internal documents for approval by various District departments
- Coordinate project activities with different branches within the District including Environmental Health and Safety, Design Services, Maintenance and Operations, Furniture and Interiors, Project Execution, and Local Districts to support design and construction administration
- Participate in community outreach programs to foster understanding and acceptance of District building projects
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies
- At least five years of full-time professional experience in an architecture and design environment
- Minimum three years of experience specifically in design, planning, and construction of educational or similar public facilities
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in architecture, engineering, or planning
- Understanding of architectural, engineering, or planning terminology, concepts, and symbols
- Familiarity with building materials and technical detailing of architectural features
- Knowledge of research methods for planning studies, surveys, and data sourcing
- Proficient record-keeping skills
- Working proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit software
- Effective verbal and written communication capabilities
- Experienced with computer databases and related tools
- Analytical skills for resolving architectural, engineering, or planning issues related to educational facilities
- Capability to interpret relevant federal, state, and local codes
- Familiarity with California Department of Education and Division of State Architect regulations, along with building, fire, and energy codes such as ADA, CA Title 24, and CalGreen
- Accurate mathematical skills for calculations and surveys
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex data and documents
- Collaborative approach to teamwork and multitasking capabilities
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation package reflects factors such as education, credentials, experience, and geography, ranging from $125,000 to $130,000 annually.
