Position Overview

This full-time role within the Community Development & Safety Team focuses on enhancing community safety and capacity through the implementation and monitoring of various safety programs, events, and services. The position manages the Safe City program, which includes initiatives such as community CCTV, Hot Spot Cocooning, personal safety workshops, Constable Care, and CCTV retrieval among other community engagement projects.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of community safety and crime prevention theory with practical experience coordinating community-focused initiatives. Required skills include excellent communication abilities for engaging with residents, stakeholders, and service providers, leadership and collaboration for managing staff and volunteers, and competence in crafting and assessing risk management strategies. Commitment to community involvement and program improvement is essential.

Essential Qualifications

• Valid driver's license
• First Aid certification
• Police clearance less than three months old (required prior to appointment)

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Criminology, Public or Community Safety, or related discipline, or significant experience in the field
