Established in 2023, the organization focuses on educating and empowering volunteers to influence local approval of clean energy projects. Over two years, Greenlight America has contributed to adding over 15 gigawatts of clean energy capacity, nearly ten times the output of the Hoover Dam.

Position Summary

The Communications Senior Associate position is vital in advancing Greenlight America's communication efforts and campaigns. Responsibilities include conducting online research, developing content relevant to specific campaigns, and supporting the organization's broader messaging goals. The role requires sharp writing and research capabilities, adaptability to complex subject matter and digital tools, creativity, and project management skills. The role operates remotely and reports to the Senior Communications and Digital Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate social listening reports at the initiation of clean energy campaigns by analyzing local news and social media to gauge public sentiment and tailor messaging strategies around projects, policies, or technologies affecting specific communities.
• Contribute to crafting communication materials for various clean energy campaigns in collaboration with communications and campaign teams. Outputs include talking points, fact sheets, letters to editors, opinion pieces, social media content, one-pagers, and presentations.
• Assist in producing general volunteer guides, resources, and ongoing organizational messaging content through research and writing.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in content creation or messaging under deadline pressure. Backgrounds in journalism, community organizing, campaigning, or clean energy are beneficial.
• Strong skills in research and written communication.
• Genuine passion for promoting and accelerating the clean energy transition.
• Familiarity with social media analysis and news tracking is advantageous.
• Experience with digital advocacy platforms such as Mobilize.us is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range: $60,000 to $85,000.
