Clinical Auditor

Overview

The Clinical Auditor is responsible for supporting and executing clinical audit projects designed to ensure compliance with clinical practice guidelines and standards of care among healthcare providers. This role includes developing, implementing, and monitoring the clinical audit program on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with various medical and clinical departments to develop a clinical audit plan and track key aspects of the plan's progress.
• Drive the implementation and timely completion of clinical audits within established timeframes.
• Create tools for collecting clinical audit data, ensuring accuracy and validation of information gathered.
• Research new treatment protocols and clinical guidelines to assess their safety and effectiveness.
• Audit medical records for incomplete documentation or errors impacting patient care.
• Complete all clinical audits mandated by Dubai Health Authority (DHA) in accordance with their standards and deadlines.
• Maintain and update a robust database with clinical audit results and related data, generating reports and dashboards to analyze compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Organize and conduct clinical audit training sessions to keep healthcare professionals informed about current audit plans.
• Assist in preparing comprehensive audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations, facilitating their dissemination.
• Engage in risk reduction initiatives by reporting identified risks through audits and applying methodologies like Failure Mode Effect Analysis and Hazard Vulnerability Analysis.
• Perform other clinical audit, risk management, and departmental duties as directed by leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in quality or a relevant field; alternatively a diploma with at least three additional years of related experience.
• Certification such as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), auditing, or data analysis preferred.
• 4 to 6 years’ experience in clinical settings or healthcare environments.
• Proficiency in English, both written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects within deadlines.
• Competent with Microsoft Office and similar computer applications.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent written report preparation skills and effective interpersonal communication capable of positively influencing others.
